UK Launches £15M Precision Brain Interface Programme to Treat Neurological Conditions
The Advanced Research and Invention Agency has allocated over £15 million across 18 projects targeting circuit-level brain interventions for depression, epilepsy, chronic pain, and related conditions. The three-year programme distributes funding across foundational interface development, translational clinical applications, and exploratory technologies. UCL leads two projects with £8.1 million, while Cambridge, King's College London, and Imperial College participate. The initiative marks the UK's most substantial coordinated neurotechnology investment since the 2000s.
