OpenAI Builds Its Own Computing Power, Breaking Free from Microsoft

OpenAI is building its own data center in Texas with Oracle, ending its dependence on Microsoft's cloud services that began in 2019. The move lets OpenAI train its AI models without hitting the limits of relying on a single company. Microsoft keeps some access to OpenAI's commercial services, but no longer controls the company's computing future.
