Netherlands Moves Nearly $12 Billion in Gold Out of the US and Canada
The Dutch Central Bank moved about $11.73bn in gold from the US and Canada to the UK. New York's share of Dutch gold dropped from 31.3% to 18.5%. Bank chief Olaf Sleijpen said it makes the gold easier to trade and safer to manage. The shift comes amid US trade wars, the Iran war, and military operations near Cuba and Venezuela.
