NASA Launches New Space Telescope That Sees 100 Times More Sky Than Hubble

NASA launched the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope on August 30, 2026, from Kennedy Space Center. Its camera captures 100 times more sky than Hubble at the same sharpness. Orbiting far beyond the Moon, Roman will study dark matter, dark energy, and distant planets, collecting light from a billion galaxies. First pictures are expected in early 2027.
