Ecuador's Former President Sentenced for Taking Bribes

An Ecuadorian court sentenced former President Lenin Moreno, 73, to five years in prison for taking bribes tied to a dam project called Coca Codo Sinclair. Prosecutors said a Chinese government company paid roughly $76.1 million in secret money between 2009 and 2018. Moreno says he was not involved and may appeal the ruling.
