Doctors worldwide agree on one definition of a heart attack

Four top heart-health groups agreed on August 28, 2026, in Munich, to the first shared definition of a heart attack. Before now, a patient might be told they had one in one country but not in another. Edinburgh's Prof Nicholas Mills led the effort. Prof Bryan Williams called the change a "radical shift."
