Aldi nearly catches Asda as Britain's third-biggest supermarket

Asda reported its first sales increase in over two years — just 0.2% — but Aldi is now less than one point behind in its share of UK grocery spending and growing faster. Whether Asda's recovery under boss Allan Leighton can speed up before Aldi passes it outright will determine who stays third.
