Every police force in England and Wales to get specialist rape investigators by 2027

The government wants trained rape investigators in every police force in England and Wales by the end of 2027, 18 months sooner than first planned. Ministers announced the idea last year. Prime Minister Andy Burnham said the old deadline was "too slow."
