Malaysia to Send 1,500 Myanmar Refugees Home on Navy Ships

Malaysia will send 1,500 Myanmar refugees back home on September 29 aboard Myanmar navy ships. The plan targets 5,000 returns total. Rights group Human Rights Watch says Myanmar isn't safe for returnees. Malaysia never signed the main global treaty on refugee rights, so it doesn't have to let the UN's refugee agency monitor whether people go back safely.
