Google's Notebook App Now Lets You Ask Questions About Books You've Bought

On August 27, 2026, Google updated Gemini Notebook so users can ask questions about purchased Google Play Books titles, generate charts, and create AI-narrated podcasts from them. Over 100,000 books from Penguin Random House, Macmillan, O'Reilly Media, and others are included. Access requires proof of purchase, so sharing notebooks doesn't reveal book content. Google plans to add scholarly articles, magazines, and newspapers.
