Google's Gemini Notebook Now Lets Users Query Purchased Books via Expert Intelligence

On August 27, 2026, Google launched Expert Intelligence for Gemini Notebook, letting users query, generate infographics, and create AI podcasts from purchased Google Play Books titles. Over 100,000 books from Penguin Random House, Macmillan, O'Reilly Media, and others are supported at launch. Full-text access is gated behind verified ownership, so shared notebooks don't expose content to non-purchasers. Google plans expansion to scholarly articles, magazines, and newspapers.
