Thieves Steal Ancient Gold Treasure from Spanish Museum
Thieves broke into Villena Museum in Alicante on 27 August 2026 and stole 66 gold items weighing about 10 kilograms from the Treasure of Villena — Europe's most important collection of objects from the Bronze Age, a time over 3,000 years ago. Found in 1963 and on display since May 2024, the treasure was taken in minutes. An official called the raid "super-fast and super-professional."
