Ring's New Encryption Means Even Ring Can't See Your Old Videos
Ring now turns on TAKE encryption for all customers by default. THINK of TAKE as a lock whose key is destroyed each day. Keys change every five minutes and vanish within 24 hours, with no copies kept. After that, nobody — not even Ring — can unlock your old videos. Police with a court order would get scrambled files. Keys stay locked inside protected cloud systems that Ring's own servers cannot reach.
