New open-source AI coding tool Proliferate launches with major investor backing

Proliferate, founded in 2025 by Pablo Hansen, launched a free, downloadable AI coding assistant for teams. Backed by True Ventures, Pear VC, and 50+ YC founders, it works with Claude, Codex, and Gemini using subscriptions you already have. A private beta adds shared workspaces, code review controls, and cloud-based testing. Companies can run it on their own servers.
