Open-source AI coding IDE Proliferate launches with backing from True Ventures, Pear VC, and 50+ YC founders

Proliferate, Inc., founded in 2025 by Pablo Hansen, has launched an open-source, self-hostable AI IDE for team-based collaboration with coding agents. Backed by True Ventures, Pear VC, and 50+ YC founders, the AGPL-3.0 desktop app is model-agnostic — supporting Claude Code, Codex, and Gemini on existing subscriptions. A team beta with shared workspaces, isolated Git worktrees, cloud sandboxes, and review controls is in private beta. Self-hosting in a customer's own VPC is supported.
