London isn't ready for fully driverless taxis despite government push

London's transport body hasn't finished rules for taxis with no human driver and won't take applications "for some time." Yet the UK government wants driverless taxi trials by spring 2026. Uber and Wayve can operate self-driving cars in London, but only with a backup person inside. Waymo and Baidu also want in.
