Parliament says government department knowingly misled MPs

A parliamentary committee has ruled the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment knowingly gave MPs incomplete answers. In March, chief executive Nic Blakeley and former Immigration NZ head Alison McDonald failed to mention a cancelled computer upgrade project. The committee said this was deliberate but recommended no punishment, because both officials had already said sorry in public.
