Polestar forced to leave US market over Chinese software ban in cars
Polestar will stop selling cars in the US starting with 2027 models after the government blocked it under a rule banning Chinese software in vehicles. The decision comes despite record estimated sales of 30,423 cars in the first half of 2026. Sister company Volvo, which shares the same Chinese owner Geely, was approved in May 2026.
