Quebec heads to the polls Oct. 5 in a wide-open election
Quebec Premier Christine Fréchette is expected to call an election this week for Oct. 5, 2026. Poll tracker Philippe Fournier says five parties could each win seats — last seen in 1976 — making it likelier no single party wins a majority of seats. The Parti Québécois leads polls but its lead is shrinking, with 49 per cent of voters still undecided.
