Marsden Point dry dock plan seeks government fast-track, but funding is short

Plans for a $400–500 million ship repair dock at Marsden Point were filed on 21 August seeking fast-track government approval. Regional Development Minister Shane Jones said no private investors have committed yet — they are waiting until all permissions are secured. About $300 million is still needed. The Government has set aside over $100 million from a regional fund to help.
