Marsden Point dry dock seeks fast-track consent, but $300m funding gap remains
A fast-track consent application for a $400–500 million dry dock at Marsden Point was lodged with the Environmental Protection Authority on 21 August. Fast-track consenting is a streamlined approval process. Regional Development Minister Shane Jones said no private investors have committed, with backers waiting until all consents are secured. About $300 million is still needed. The Government has set aside over $100 million from the Regional Infrastructure Fund.
