A robot in Beijing jumped higher than any human ever has

A robot called Tiangong Ultra, built in Beijing, jumped 2.8843 metres in the standing high jump at the World Humanoid Robot Games on August 22, 2026. That beat the human world record. The jump was three times higher than last year's winner. The five-day event drew 666 teams from 16 countries and 2,056 robots across 51 events.
