Several Killed in A66 Crash Involving Police Vehicle

Several people died when a Cleveland Police car and a Volkswagen Passat crashed on the A66 in South Bank, North Yorkshire, at about 3:39 a.m. on 22 August 2026. Police have not yet said how many people died. Ambulance crews sent 14 vehicles, including a special danger-response team and an air ambulance doctor. The road stays closed both ways between Normanby Road and Church Lane in Eston.
