ACT promises to build $2 billion cancer centre

ACT says it will build a $2 billion national cancer centre in Auckland and Christchurch if re-elected in November. The party says the government would team up with private companies, take donations and use public money to pay for it. The idea started as a casual comment by candidate Paul Henry. ACT adopted it before its Christchurch campaign launch on 21 August.
