Uber Hit with Record €825M Fine for Removing Drivers by Algorithm

Dutch regulators fined Uber €825 million for using computer algorithms to deactivate driver accounts without enough warning or human oversight. A privacy law called GDPR gives people the right to know when automated decisions affect them. Uber will appeal. A Swiss rights group is preparing a lawsuit for affected drivers.
