Boat Sinks in Nigeria, Killing 46 — Most of Them Children

A boat carrying more than 70 people — mostly children — overturned in a hard-to-reach village called Gorau in northwestern Nigeria. Police say 46 bodies have been found and 16 people saved, with 15 still missing. A witness told the news agency Reuters the children were riding with farm workers heading to a rice harvest. Rescue teams say the remote location makes searching difficult.
