Woman, 84, Found Alive in Rubble Days After Indonesia Earthquake
Four days after a powerful earthquake shook Indonesia on August 15, Paulina Pobi, 84, was rescued alive from her collapsed home in Nitunglea village, Flores. A landslide — when loose earth slides down a hillside — had blocked rescuers. Local official Rudolfus Riba said she was paralysed and could not move or speak. At least 73 people have died and nearly 60,000 lost their homes.
