Why Older People Face More Danger From Heat Than the Young
Stanford researchers found adults 65 and up face more heat danger at 1.5°C of warming than younger adults do at 4°C. As we age, our bodies struggle to cool down—reaching a point where they simply can't keep up. Imperial College London's Chris Mullington says earlier models assumed everyone handled heat like a healthy young adult, badly underestimating elderly risk.
