Labour drops plan for a tax on streaming services like Netflix

Labour pulled a proposed law that would have added a levy — a special tax — to streaming services like Netflix. This came after leader Chris Hipkins said no to the idea. Deputy leader Carmel Sepuloni blamed an "administrative oversight" for the confusion and confirmed Labour will not campaign on it. The government had also looked at a levy but decided against it.
