Labour withdraws streaming levy bill, blames 'administrative oversight'

Labour withdrew a member's bill proposing a streaming levy after leader Chris Hipkins ruled one out. Deputy leader Carmel Sepuloni blamed an "administrative oversight" for the mixed messaging and confirmed Labour will not campaign on a streaming levy. The coalition government had separately considered a levy but decided not to pursue it.
