Parliament stops people suing companies over climate change

Parliament voted 67–53 to stop people suing companies for harm caused by climate-changing emissions. No one can be taken to court for this, including the government itself. Minister Paul Goldsmith said climate policy is for Parliament to decide. The law was aimed at activist Mike Smith's case against Z Energy and Fonterra. It now awaits the Governor-General's sign-off.
