Home Depot's Sales Top Expectations as Shoppers Fix, Not Remodel
Home Depot sold $47.9 billion worth of goods last quarter — 5.7% more than a year ago and above what analysts predicted. CFO Richard McPhail says shoppers are tackling small repairs, not big renovations, since borrowing costs remain high. Profit reached $4.8 billion, or $4.79 per share of stock. Comparable store sales rose 1.7%.
