Calgary police asked border officers to check protesters' status; 12 told to report for interviews

Calgary police asked border officers on Aug. 12 to check whether four people at a student protest were in Canada legally. Officers expanded the checks to 20 people. Twelve were told they may not have the right to stay in Canada and must report for follow-up interviews. Groups supporting migrants are calling for an investigation.
