Calgary police asked CBSA to check four protesters; border agency checked 20, flagging 12 as possibly inadmissible

On Aug. 12, Calgary police asked CBSA to verify the immigration status of four individuals at an international student protest. Border officers expanded the checks to 20 people. Twelve were identified as possibly inadmissible under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act and told to report to a CBSA office for follow-up interviews. Migrant advocates are calling for an inquiry.
