Government and Opposition agree to limit gambling ads — but not ban them

Labor and the Coalition have done a deal to limit gambling ads, not ban them. It's been 1,149 days since Peta Murphy's review said ban them outright. From 1 January 2027: no ads on stadium signage or team jerseys, online ads face new restrictions, and you can opt out of seeing them. The government calls it reform. Murphy wanted more.
