Rain heading to southern England after 62 dry days

Southern England has had no real rain for 62 straight days — the longest dry stretch on record at the Met Office's Wisley weather station. A band of cool, wet air from the Atlantic should arrive overnight into 18 August 2026, bringing the first meaningful rainfall since 16 June. But it weakens as it moves south, so how much rain falls remains uncertain.
