Morocco Arrests Hundreds Near Its Border With Spain
Morocco arrested hundreds of migrants near Ceuta — a Spanish city on Africa's coast — on 15–16 August 2026, after social media urged a mass crossing. Those held included 294 sub-Saharan Africans and 111 near Fnideq. Sixty-one Moroccans were arrested for helping migrants cross. This follows July's rush of over 72,000 migrants, which killed at least 90.
