Morocco Arrests Hundreds Near Ceuta in Latest Border Crackdown
Moroccan forces arrested hundreds of migrants near Ceuta on 15–16 August 2026, including 294 sub-Saharan Africans and 111 near Fnideq, responding to social media calls for a new mass crossing. Sixty-one Moroccan nationals were arrested for facilitating migration. The operation follows late July's rush of over 72,000 migrants, which killed at least 90 on both sides of the border.
