Thieves Steal Priceless Art from Sicilian Museum

On 15 August 2026, a major Italian holiday, thieves broke into a Sicilian museum and stole four painted wood panels by Renaissance artist Antonello da Messina from the 1400s. The panels came from two artworks. The museum director called them "the most important works." Police are investigating.
