Twelve dead after Polish tour bus crashes on highway in Hungary

A Polish tour bus carrying 59 people flipped over on a highway near Budapest, Hungary, around 1 a.m. on 16 August 2026. Twelve died and 47 were hurt. Police think the driver fell asleep and have arrested him. Rescue teams used cranes to lift the heavy bus and free 35 trapped riders. One person is still in critical condition.
