Morocco stops second large group from reaching Spanish border town of Ceuta

Moroccan police stopped 111 migrants near Fnideq, three kilometres from Ceuta, on 15 August 2026. Two weeks earlier, about 78,000 migrants crossed into the Spanish town by sea in hours; 100 died. Ceuta normally holds 85,000 people. Spain and Morocco had boosted security after seeing social-media posts calling for another attempt.
