License Plate Camera Maker Flock Adds New Privacy Safeguards After Misuse

Flock CEO Garrett Langley said the company "got the oversight question wrong" and will now require audit trails and case codes for every search of its license plate camera data, while cutting how long data is kept from 30 days to seven. Langley had previously said lawmakers, not Flock, should set rules; few did. The change follows stalking cases, including a Georgia police chief searching his ex-girlfriend's plate over 500 times.
