Powerful Typhoon Dolphin Floods Beijing After Rare Inland Journey
Typhoon Dolphin, the strongest storm to hit China in 2026, flooded central areas and Beijing by August 11 after traveling about 1,200 kilometers inland from coastal Shanghai. Storms rarely travel this far from the ocean. Hubei Province closed the Three Gorges Dam tourist site and 26 other dangerous areas, expecting up to 250mm of rain in one day.
