Cambridge Grows Tiny Human Organs to Test New Medicines

Cambridge has launched a £20 million project, funded by the Medical Research Council, to grow tiny human organs from patients' cells to test new medicines. Right now, over 90% of drugs that work in animals fail in humans. The project will build a shared library of these mini-organs for researchers and drug companies, supporting a UK push to cut animal testing.
