YouTube extended its AI likeness detection system to talent agencies, management companies, and celebrities in April 2026, removing the requirement that entertainers maintain active YouTube channels to access deepfake protection. Major agencies including CAA, UTA, and WME have aligned with the initiative. The tool scans for synthetic facial content and flags potential unauthorized impersonations for manual review and removal requests, rather than automated takedowns.
