Australia Expands Paid Placement Support to Ten Allied Health Fields from July 2027

At the 2026 Labor national conference in Adelaide, PM Albanese announced the Commonwealth Prac Payment will extend to ten allied health disciplines — including clinical psychology, paramedicine, and pharmacy — from 1 July 2027. Eligible students will receive up to $338.60 per week during placements, matching support available to teaching and nursing students since the program's July 2025 launch.
