NASA Releases Psyche Spacecraft's Mars Flyby Timelapse

NASA released a timelapse video on July 17 assembled from thousands of images captured by the Psyche spacecraft's multispectral imager during its May 2026 Mars gravity-assist flyby. The footage shows crescent Mars, surface detail at closest approach on May 15, and the icy south pole receding on departure. The imager also captured Phobos and Deimos. Psyche is now en route to asteroid Psyche, arriving 2029.
