ICE Mandates Body Cameras for Vehicle Stops After Two Fatal Shootings Produced No Footage
ICE will require officers to record vehicle stops with body cameras nationwide within 60 days, border czar Tom Homan announced July 19. The mandate follows two fatal ICE shootings during July traffic stops in Houston and Biddeford, Maine — neither producing body-camera footage. Both men killed were not the intended targets of the operations. Cameras are purchased; trainers are being prepared.
