National won't commit to NZ First's $1 billion oil and gas survey

NZ First's $1 billion National Subsurface Development Survey, unveiled at the party's campaign launch in Auckland on 18 July, has no firm coalition partner. National's energy spokesperson Simeon Brown said only that National already supports oil and gas exploration. Labour opposes the plan outright. Peters called the survey a "game changer" and said it could happen "within six years".
