Departing National MP calls for super age to start rising in 2029, reaching 68 by 2065

Outgoing National MP Andrew Bayly has urged all parties to raise the NZ super eligibility age by one month per year from 2029, reaching 68 by 2065. His modelling says this would cut super's share of tax revenue to about 25 percent by 2065. National's own policy starts adjustments in 2044 and reaches 67. An RNZ-Reid Research poll in July found 58 percent of voters want the age kept at 65.
